Easy Crafts for Kids
I know that not every ESL teacher needs craft ideas for kids. But since I teach ESL preschool, we do have a craft time, and I am always in need of good ideas.
Since the preschool style of ESL teaching is growing in popularity, I thought that this was a needed section for the website.
Doing crafts with ESL learners is a bit more difficult than doing crafts with native speakers. The instructions must use easy English, be simple, and easy to understand.
As I've mentioned before, many ESL teachers are not trained teachers. You may not be sure of the types of skills that children possess at different age levels. It's extremely disheartening to have your great craft idea not look its best because it turns out that your 3 year olds cannot use scissors.
Most of the crafts that I'll include here have been tested with my children. When possible, I'll include a picture of an actual craft that one of my 2 year olds created, which are so cute. I love to see the creative ways that they deal with craft projects. (Unfortunately, some of my ideas were done before I got the idea for this website, so I didn't get a picture. In these cases, I'll try to post pictures of samples that I've made.)

These are the easiest of easy ideas that work for all ages and can be done with little preparation.
