The Colors Game
The Colors Game is one of my favorites of the high energy ESL games. You can use it at the beginning of class to tire out an energetic class and get them ready to sit down and learn. Or use it as a filler at the end of class. Either way, the kids will go home smiling...
Game Outline:
Hope you and your kids have fun with this game.

THE COLORS GAME
Target English: recognizing colors
Things You Need: just a group of kids and a colorful classroom
Age: 6 or younger*
English Level: low
*Depending on the class, you might be able to work this game with older kids. However, it involves tickling, so I try to keep it to 6 and younger...
1. Stand in the center of the room and have all of the kids touch a part of you. I hold out my arms and most of them will touch my arms.
2. Call out a color.
3. Kids must run and touch something in the classroom that is that color. If they are touching the color, then they are "safe". If they are not touching the color, then the teacher can run around and tickle them.
