The Flying Tiger Game

I call this the Flying Tiger Game because I use a tiger puppet that we have at our school and the name sounds pretty cool. But any stuffed animal or puppet will do. And if you don't even have that, just use anything that you can throw. :-)

THE FLYING TIGER GAME

Target English: anything you want
Things You Need: flashcards, tiger puppet (or anything you can throw)
Age: 2 or older
English Level: low-high

Game Outline:
1. Spread the cards out onto the floor.
2. Let the first student throw the tiger and try to make it land on one of the cards.
3. The student must use the card that it lands on (or closest to) in the target english phrase.

Variations

  • Young students cannot throw very far, so keep the area that they can throw from close to the cards. Older students can throw from very far away.
  • To make this easy, students only need to say the vocabulary word that the tiger landed on.
  • To make it harder, students must use the word in a sentence.
  • Use ABC cards and have kids say a word that starts with that letter.

Hope you and your kids have fun with this game.

Love,
Shannon Sensei
