Sea Paintings

Sea paintings are very fun for the kids to make. They often can't believe how it really looks like an underwater scene.

Materials Needed:
  • white paper
  • crayons
  • blue paint
  • water
  • paintbrushes
  • glue and sand (optional)

Preparation
None needed

In Class

  • Pass out the white paper and crayons and have students draw fish or other sea creatures all over the paper.
  • While they are drawing their pictures, mix blue paint with water and pass out the paint mixture and paintbrushes.
  • Have students brush the paint mixture over the entire piece of paper. The paint will not take where they have drawn with crayon.
  • If desired, when paint is dry, glue sand at the bottom of the painting.

With the water involved, this can get a little messy. The paper can be hard to transport from the table to the drying rack because it is so wet. Be careful that you do not accidentally rip the paper.
