Super Simple Learning Review

Many many years ago (gosh, it really was a long time ago…) Devon of Super Simple Learning (then Super Simple Songs) sent me a copy of his brand spankin’ new CDs. I loved them and used them constantly in all of my classes.

What makes the songs especially great is that most are the same old traditional songs that you naturally want to use in teaching, but with the lyrics slightly tweaked a bit so that the language is more useful for English language learners. For instance, in “Happy and You Know It” the language changes to:

If you’re happy, happy, happy, clap your hands.

If you’re happy, happy, happy, clap your hands.

If you’re happy, happy, happy, clap your hands, clap your hands.

If you’re happy, happy, happy, clap your hands.

The song then goes on with different emotions, which makes it much more practical for use in the ESL classroom.

Super Simple Learning has their own YouTube channel and their website has plenty of free resources. Check them out!
